Lainey Hunt
TWU Gymnast 2021 - Present

I started gymnastics when I was 3 years old and fell in love with it immediately. For me gymnastics took a lot of hard work and determination, so throughout my club career I spent 30+ hours in the gym every week. I learned so much during this time about the importance of resilience and perseverance through challenges. I was blessed to have not have any major injuries during my club career until my senior year when I tore my shoulder. It was a long recovery that led to a unique college experience. I had to step into a new role and realized that success looks different for everyone in every season. I learned the importance of trusting the process with the help of a supportive team, coaching staff, and athletic trainers. The first two years of college I was blessed with the opportunity to support my teammates in anyway I could, while they supported me through the recovery process. My junior year I was able to step into a new role as lead off on bars! The road was long and I found that the end goal couldn’t have happened without all of the smaller and less “exciting” goals. I’m so thankful for the journey so far and can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
